Installing Weed Tigers
You must have two (2) holes for balance, approx. 1/4" in size. Weed Tigers must fit loose.
Otherwise remove spool and spring. Save them. Drill a 1/4" hole on each side of the trimmer head, approx. 1/2" from the outer edge as shown. After drilling holes, cut away sharpe edges and countersink the holes. Centrifugal force keeps Weed Tigers in place
Start trimmer. Warm engine. Stop. Insert Weed Tigers and restart. Only the first inch of ANY trimmer lines does the cutting.
For excellent results, when trimming sidewalks, posts, fences, driveways, masonry or solid objects, use only the
first inch
of your trimmer line.
Special Instructions for Homelite or similar trimmers whose two (2) holes are not large enough for Weed Tigers to be
inserted and fit loose! Remove spool and leave spring in place. Drill holes (top drawing). After spool is removed,
place six 3/8" washers on spring and compress down onto shaft. Replace cap assembly, and screw back on very tightly. The six
washers are needed to maintain compression on spring after spool is removed.
